Connor is a major character in the Buffy spinoff Angel. He is the son of the title character and Darla who is stolen by Daniel Holtz and taken into a hell dimension where he is brainwashed into hating his father in order for Holtz to avenge Angel's murder of his family when he was Angelus. Despite Angel's attempts to reconcile Connor and he had had numerous conflicts which ultimately culminated in Angel making a deal to join corrupt law firm Wolfram and Hart in order to alter Connor's memories and give him a normal life.
What Makes Him Sympathetic?[]
- His mother died before he was even born and he felt like neither of his parents loved him even though they both did.
- He had a terrible childhood as he attempted to survive Quor'toth and was traumatized by his experience with demons, explaining his prejudice towards them.
- He genuinely cared for Holtz and was devastated by his death.
- He nearly reconciled with Angel before Holtz killed himself to turn Connor against his father.
- Genuinely attempts to protect innocent civilians from vampires and other demons.
- He's manipulated and abused by Jasmine when she's possessing Cordelia.
- After Angel stops Jasmine he's distraught to the point he tries to kill himself.
- He becomes a nicer person after Angel changes his memories. Even after their restored he continues to be a better person and is grateful to his father for his attempts to help him, even saving Angel's life from Marcus Hamilton in the series finale.
